Black Hand Riku is a former pirate helm who in one case terrorized Iki island, known for building his Sarugami Armor in honour of a monkey demon inhabiting it. Later condign blinded during a mutiny by his crew, Riku survived on the coasts of Iki while preying on anyone who dares to seek out his cursed armor.

Synopsis [ ]

Black Hand Riku was known to be the cruelest pirate captain to ever terrorize Iki, carving upwards his victims to feed to his loyal companion, a barbarous monkey. Riku built an armor for himself to honor a Sarugami, a monkey demon. This Sarugami was said to so inhabit Riku's armor, driving him into reckless deportment while bringing the pirate to the brink of ruin.

Well-nigh six years before the events of the story, Riku attacked a refugee ship, throwing all the children on information technology overboard, killing their samurai protector, and feeding their remains to his monkey companion. Riku's crew was horrified at this, causing a wildcat to occur where Riku was stabbed and permamently blinded by poison. However, Riku somehow survived with the protection of his Sarugami Armor, setting his ship afire before escaping with his monkey.

Those on Iki believed Riku to have died in the aftermath, with his armor subconscious on the island while his spirit haunts the shore to protect it. Yet, Riku did secretly survive, with the monkeys on Iki acting every bit his eyes and ears.

Jin Sakai later arrives on Iki, learning about the Legend of Blackness Hand Riku and becomes interesting in obtaining the Sarugami Armor. His search leads him to a Mysterious Cave on the northeastern shores of Iki surrounded by glowing water where Riku has been hiding all this time.

Riku knew Jin was coming from his dreams and monkey companions, revealing himself in one case Jin enters the area of the cave known as the "Pit of Darkness". The pirate captain understood Jin was there for his armor, claiming he was reborn in the darkness after surviving his coiffure's mutiny before readying to duel. Jin observes this would not exist a fair fight since Riku was blind, to which the pirate helm responds that Jin was the one at a disadvantage.

After a fierce duel, Jin finally manages to slay Blackness Hand Riku, taking the Sarugami Armor for himself in the backwash.
